A very strong point for this sash window pet doors is that the flap is made from Lexan--generic name polycarbonate--which is very strong. The weak point in this flap design is the "ears" that the flap swings on at the top. Polycarbonate "ears" are much harder to break. Along those same lines, it is wise to ensure that the top of the pets shoulder is no higher than the top of the flap opening. This prevents the pet pressing against these "ears".

Another nifty feature is that, because a separate locking cover is not required, the factory can mount the flap to the left, right or centered when inside looking out. After you "Buy Now" and "Add to Cart" a dialog will ask you for your choice.
