The Plexidor Dog Door is a high quality, self-framing pet door designed to be installed in hollow or solid core doors to a maximum thickness of 2. A unique design, Plexidors have flaps that swing from the sides like saloon doors (the small size swings from one side only) and are manufactured of clear, rigid acrylic. Because the flaps are hollow (about 1/8 air space) and because they are rigid (it's easier to get a good seal on a rigid flap) and weather-stripped, these doors tend to perform better than most in terms of insulation. The flaps are centered using springs and are relatively easy to push which makes the larger sizes also accessible to small pets sharing with a larger pet. All sizes have a keyed lock for quick use. The medium and larger sizes also have a steel locking cover that fastens to the inside of the pet door with four bolts for a very secure lock.
