"The
Pet Door" by PetSafe incorporates the same flap as the
PetSafe Ultimate pet door in a polypropylene frame that will
not dent or rust. The locking cover is fiber-board and may
be installed on either side of the pet door (a track is
provided for both sides). Vinyl strips are provided which
serve to 'frame out' a hollow core door and to hide the core
of a solid core door. The adjustment range for this 'frame
out' feature is 1/4"
to 1 3/4". The two-part flap design is intended to provide a better seal by incorporating a 'U' shaped gasket piece that overlaps the flap and the frame on one side. Because the "U" shaped piece moves with the flap in one direction and not in the other, the size of the flap opening is larger in one direction than in the other. We give the smallest dimension below. Even though the pet door is discontinued, the replacement flaps continue available. These pet doors have variously been marketed as PetSafe Economy, Pet-Dor Jr, and Tuffi-Dor by the original manufacturer Johnson Pet-Dor. Framing is required for a wall installation. Not suitable for a double-flap wall-thru. |
