Petsafe 4-Way Locking Cat Flap and Wall Kit

We've had 2 of the Staywell cat doors installed in our exterior wall. The first lasted about 7 years until an enthusiastic cat running full speed into the house snapped off some pieces. We replaced the door component and the new one has survived multiple assaults by that same cat.

The wall extension system works fairly well for installation. The 4-way lock makes it easy to switch to in-only to collect cats for the evening, or to full-lock to keep out raccoons at night.

Unfortunately, the flap is on the small side and the tunnel extensions are no bigger, so the cats have to crawl through the tunnel to finish getting out. Our older cat with mild arthritis now balks at using the door, and will do so only when she is desperate to get in and no one is around to open the patio door instead. One of our newer kittens is close to 12 pounds already and just doesn't fit well through the tunnel, so he to will come get us to open the patio door instead.

This would be an ideal product if only it were larger.
