Adoption Retention is a challenge every adoptive organization faces. Simply put, how many of the animals that they place stay in that forever home? Too often the reason is housetraining difficulties or similar issues. A pet door can be an important tool in successful housetraining. It can mean the difference between success and failure; between a successful placement and a return of the pet to the already overwhelmed shelter or rescue. It can also mean that the pet is again at risk of euthanasia.

SPADE is a partnership between Patio Pacific and exceptional Animal Shelters and Rescues. Patio Pacific provides a partner code to each partner organization. When the Shelter or Rescue provides that code to their supporters through flyers, articles and other personalized resources provided by Patio Pacific, their supporters can then order the Endura flap pet door and designate the nonprofit Shelter or Rescue for a significant donation! Those funds benefit every and any program that the Shelter or Rescue chooses to support. The money is theirs to use as they see fit.Additionally, SPADE provides other valuable resources like content that can be utilized on websites and in newsletters to encourage responsible pet and pet door ownership. Ongoing support from Patio Pacific includes regular tips and suggestions to help make the SPADE program even more effective and successful for each participating partner Shelter or Rescue. Shelter organizations that participate in the SPADE program simply provide a coupon code to their adopters and foster people. Those people purchase a pet door featuring the 'Endura' flap, provide the code to the shopping cart and we rebate a large percentage of the sale to the shelter. The shelter then uses that income in any way they see fit in helping to reduce the killing. For example, they may sponsor spay/neuter programs, purchase shelter food and supplies or defray adoption expenses. There are no 'strings' on the money.
