The Staywell 932 Magnetically Operated Cat Flap
does not rely upon batteries or electricity to operate. Instead, the force of the magnetic 'collar key' activates a latch within the pet door to release the flap.
The door includes a 4-way lock which has been significantly improved over the original design.
Since this pet door is self-framing it may be installed in any door including solid or hollow core, metal (aluminum or other non-magnetic material), insulation filled etc. Adjustment range for the self-framing feature is 0" to 2". It should not be installed in a door made from steel or other magnetic material.
Hint: How to tell--Take any magnet and see if it's attracted to the door you intend to use.
Reversed installation (turning the pet door around so that it controls from the inside rather than from the outside) will void the warranty. Staywell provides one collar key is provided and spare keys with collar may be ordered at collar keys.
You'll need your own collar for the collar keys listed here. But Staywell has a nice collar of their own offered with collar key that will work fine with the 932. It's on the collar keys page.
Staywell believes that this pet door is suitable for cats to about 15 lbs. When used for a dog, we'd suggest shading that value back a bit. As always, please measure before purchase.

Petsafe Pet Door Products
All parts, excluding vinyl flaps, are covered under warranty, and labor is covered for the first year of ownership. Thereafter, there is a minimum service charge for the repair or replacement of the product. Vinyl flaps are warranted for one (1) year. Misuse, loss, improper handling, commercial use, and dirty or worn parts are not covered. Radio Systems will not pay for loss of time, inconvenience, loss of use of your product, or any incidental or consequential damages.
