Endura Flap Retainer Bottom Installation Instructions

Included Materials: 1 Endura Flap Retainer Bottom

Tools:
Mallet (optional)
Flathead screwdriver or other flat tool (optional)

Installation Steps:

1. Order the correct replacement size

2. Remove the old retainer bottom if still attached:

- This can usually be done by bending the retainer outwards so that you can slip your fingers underneath it. At that point, pull and twist until the retainer comes off of the flap. Warning: The magnets underneath will likely fall out

- If it is too difficult to do by hand, you can use a flathead screwdriver or any other flat, thin tool to slide between the retainer and the main flap body and use it to lift the retainer off of the extrusions holding it on. Take care not to damage the main flap body

3. Ensure that the magnets are still in place or replace the magnets

4. Position the new retainer bottom so that the cutouts on the retainer are roughly in line with the extrusions on the flap body

5. Push the retainer bottom onto the flap and over the extrusions:

- This can be done by hand, but it is easier to use a mallet to tap the retainer bottom into place. Ensure that the edge of the main flap body doesn’t get caught in the cutouts of the retainer, as it will keep the retainer from sliding on. If it does, you can push them inside the retainer by hand.

- Regardless of whether done by hand or by mallet, the retainer bottom cutouts will likely be slightly offset from the flap body extrusions. Push and pull the retainer bottom side-to-side until you can feel each of the corners of the extrusions sticking out of the cutouts. This ensures that the new retainer will not come off.
