Maximum dimensions are 83" tall x 40" wide (ie 2 x 20" panels)
The Magic Mesh Hands Free Screen Door is composed of two plastic mesh panels which fasten to the inside or outside of a doorway with velcro strips & supplied tacks. Mount on the inside if the regular door opens outward and on the outside if the door opens inward.
The sides facing each other contain 9 magnets each. When the pet or human walks through, these magnets 'let go' to allow passage. Once through, they snap back together quickly again. Fresh air comes in; bugs don't.
We've read the reviews on the web and have a few comments regarding them
- First, the reviews are very mixed. Some folks are delighted and some are just the opposite. That suggests to us that the handy user who takes time to carefully fit and fasten is going to have a better result than the casual buyer who expects to throw it up and have it work. Considering that this is a low-cost product, we think expectations should be tempered with a dose of reality.
- That said, we'd give it a try. But plan on putting some effort into the process. For example, be sure that the supplied tacks are embedded in something besides drywall and are really going to stand up to constant in-and-out day after day. If not, go to the hardware store and get something better. Likewise, check how securely the magnets are affixed and be prepared to do something about it if they're not fastened on so well. Be sure to clean the surface you want the velco tabs to stick to and hem as needed to get a good fit.
In short, with a little work and careful fitting, we'd expect a good result.
Now that we've scared away all but the fearless, we're looking forward to the reviews we get to see whether our customers are happy or not. If not, we'll drop it.
