    5 5 Great Product

I’ve had the door for 2 years now and it’s a godsend. It took a day or two for the dogs to get the idea but once they realized that this gave them unrestricted access to the yard, they were all about it. My dogs don’t even use it only to do their business. I will often see them laid out in the sun enjoying the warm sun. It allows them a freedom that’s undeniable and it gives me comfort knowing they are really enjoying themselves by having that access. I also no longer worry about getting stuck at work or trying to find a dog walker at the last minute. As for the product itself, yes it’s much larger than you would probably imagine. Once installed the entire unit that is visible is maybe 4 feet in height. It also makes a motorized sound when the door opens. It’s noticeable from other rooms in the house so there’s no question, when it’s being used, you’ll know. But it’s not so loud or annoying that it’s disruptive to everyday life in any way. Bigger dogs will definitely need the larger “collar key” which is really not bothersome to my dogs at all. It’s not much bigger than a typical large dog’s name tag. Additional ones are sent by request. In the two years that I’ve owned this, as expensive as it is, it has honestly saved me money in the long run what with having to hire dog sitters/walkers, to constantly opening the sliding glass doors and letting heat or air conditioning out of the house. Yes it uses power but I truly didn’t see any significant difference in my electric bill. Yes it keeps other animals out however I did have ONE mishap with a possum that must have followed behind one of my dogs or my cat. So, it’s not impossible for an outside animal to get in. It’s just much less likely than with a traditional doggie door. My last recommendation, whether you get the door or wall version, have it professionally installed. Yes it’s an additional expense but you want peace of mind when you’re creating a relatively permanent hole in your home’s structure. All in all, this product is a great investment if your animals are very important to you as they are to me.

  • Best electronic door hands down! review by Michaela
5 5 Best electronic door hands down!

One of the only electronic options for my size dogs, it is quiet and sleek looking. I haven't hardly noticed since installing, which is exactly what I wanted!

  • Best electronic door for large dogs review by Francine
5 5 Best electronic door for large dogs

By far the highest quality electronic door for large dogs that I've seen on the market. I use to have an issue with uninvited "guests" letting themselves in through the dog door, but not anymore with this door! My dog learned out to use it fairly quickly and so far has no issues with it. Definitely an investment, but worth it!

  • great concept, poor aesthetics review by chef k
5 3 great concept, poor aesthetics

We ordered this door for the new house we are building. The carpenter just installed it, and I was shocked by the finished look, which is not appealing at all. Based on pictures on the website, I was under the impression that it was fairly attractive. However, I went back to look at the website, and the pictures I saw only show the animal entering through the opening, which doesn't paint an accurate picture. That being said, the concept is great and will work well for our dogs. My husband will build something to cover up the unsightly top half of the plexidor, where the mechanics are located. By the way, we installed it on a wall, not a door, so it is the first thing you see when you walk in the room!

  • The circuit board needs a little work review by Jules
5 2 The circuit board needs a little work

We have owned this door for a few years now. When it's working, it works very well. The mechanical engineering is good, the materials are good , the idea is great. RFID is the perfect technology to put on a dog's collar. No batteries, waterproof... Etc.

The problem is that the circuit board needs some more work, and the company doesn't seem to be developing anymore. At first, the door worked great. After about a year the little microcomputer started crashing, and the door would stop opening. We replaced the main board twice, at no charge, over the years. But they sent us the exact same board, with the same firmware version every time. They don't seem to have anyone still working on it, providing bug-fixes. Normally a product developer will keep working on a design until they get all the kinks worked out. Eventually I just put a timer on the door's power plug to reboot it automatically throughout the day. Hint, hint, Plexidor.

We have one of your dog doors and have two new dogs that will not use it the are afraid of the door. I have taken the door off an use a coulpe of piece of flooring I had, and they use that with no problems. Also both of my cats use the door and they are small cats. Do you know of a away to train dogs to use the door?

  • Very Happy review by B Mccoy
    5 5 Very Happy

I have owned this door for about 1 year. It was easy to install. My first worry was what is it going to look like on the wall? We picked white so it goes with our white trim. Looks good and I dont even know its there. I have 2 German Shepherds, 1 is 65lbs and the other is 100lbs. Both learned the door in about 10 minutes. They use it as they need, day or night and I have the control to unplug it when the pool guy or gardener comes in the back yard. Security was our main concern and it has filled that purpose. Also when I for called for a support they were happy to help. I recommend this door for anyone who wants security and the abilty to let there dogs have access outside 24/7.
