Designed for extreme climates, the Endura Flap Severe Weather Vinyl Sliding Glass Dog Door is engineered to keep your home insulated while giving your pet the freedom to go outside. This dual-flap pet door uses high-quality magnets to stay sealed in high winds, while its Low-E safety glass reduces heat transfer, helping maintain comfortable indoor temperatures year-round.

The panel fits vinyl sliding glass doors with a minimum 1 1/2" track thickness, ensuring a secure fit without the need for permanent modifications. Each Endura Flap Vinyl Panel has a 3" adjustment range. Review our Track Measuring Guide video for additional, detailed information The following standard adjustment ranges are available:

Step 1 Loosen Height Adjustment Locks

Loosen the height adjustment locks at the top of the pet panel with the screwdriver. This allows the spring mechanism to move freely up and down.

Step 2 Test Fit the Panel in Your Track

You want to put the pet door in your track before applying any weather stripping to ensure it fits. If the panel fits well, proceed to the next step. See the Troubleshooting Section if you encounter difficulties.
To insert the panel into the top track, push up against the spring mechanism and swing the bottom of the panel up and over the threshold.
Seat the panel on top of the small guide rail in the track.
If you can't quite get it in the track, try swinging in from the outside as the outside track wall may be shorter.

Step 3 Apply Weatherstripping

Once you're sure the panel fits, remove it from the frame and lay it on its side on the ground.
For foam weatherstripping: Peel the backing off the foam weatherstripping. Press it along both edges of the panel, trimming as needed with scissors to ensure a snug fit.
For rubber weatherstripping: Clean the edge of your sliding door or window with rubbing alcohol to help the weatherstripping stick properly. Starting at the top or bottom, peel and press the strip into place with the folded edge facing indoors—align angled cuts if you have two pieces. For best results, apply the seal to the sliding door or window, but it can go on the pet door panel if needed.
Foam weatherstripping is applied onto both sides of the panel, but the rubber weather stripping only applies on the side of the slider door. Your panel will come with one type of weather stripping. You do not need both types.

Step 4 Install the Draft Stopper

The center post weather seal strip (draft stopper) should be installed on the inside of the home.
It can install on either the back edge of the sliding door panel or the leading edge of the stationary panel.
This strip prevents air from leaking between the sliding glass door and the stationary panel.
Trim with scissors as needed. Clean the edge of your patio door with rubbing alcohol before installing to assure a good seal.
Repeat step two to install the panel in your track.

Step 5 Install the Panel

If you haven't already, insert the panel back into your sliding door track the same way you did earlier: pushing up against the spring mechanism and swinging the bottom into place. Push it snug into the side track!
Make sure everything is sitting securely.
Tighten the height adustment locks in the spring mechanism.
And that's it! Your pet door is installed and ready for use. Now, watch your pet strut through their new door like they own the place!

Step 1 Align the Connectors

Align the aluminum connectors extending from the bottom flap panel section with the top glass panel section. Remove the 4 sectional connectors screws before joining the sections.
Press the aluminum connectors into the holes at the bottom of the top glass panel section.
Ensure locking cover & height adjustment locks are on the same side!

Step 2 Assemble the Panel

To fully seat the connectors, gently tap the bottom edge of the panel against the ground
Tip: Place a towel or soft surface underneath to protect your floor, and the panel!
Fasten the two panels together using the four sectional connector screws.

Can an intruder remove a dog door for sliding glass doors from the outside? No, the thumbscrews are on the inside of the panel, so once installed, the Endura Flap Panel cannot be lifted out and removed without first loosening the thumbscrews from inside the home.
Can I install it myself? It is meant to easily be put in and removed. You just have to loosen the screws at the top, fit it into the track, and then tighten them. Then to remove it you simply loosen them again and pop it out.
Can you lock the pet door? It comes with a closing cover, and you slide that in on the inside of the house. It is a very secure ABS plastic material that is as strong as a 16 gauge steel.
Do the Endura Flap panels require tools for installation? All panel sizes will require a flathead screwdriver for the height adjustment locks. Panels that ship in two pieces (sectionals) will need to be assembled with 4 hex screws and a hex wrench, all of which are provided for sectionals. The following panels ship in one piece: Panels under 80 ¼" with a Small, Medium, or Large flap. The following panels ship in two pieces: Panels over 80 ¼" with a Small, Medium, Large, or Extra-Large flap and panels under 80 ¼" with an Extra-Large flap. Shipping a tall and/or wide panel in two pieces saves customers on shipping costs since it can be shipped in a smaller box.
Does it come in any color other than white? No, but the you can paint the vinyl to match.
Does it lock? We do include a c-clamp lock. It is not designed to mate with your existing sliding door lock. You can also use a Charley-Bar or dowel in the track.
Does the Endura Flap dog door sliding door come with locking covers for security? Yes, these dog doors come with locking covers to ensure safety for your pet and home. Endura Flaps have locking covers that slide over them on the side facing inside your home and are made of sturdy, heavy-duty ABS plastic. Unfortunately, they cannot be used on the outside of Endura Flap Panels as an alternative.

Pencil rails are shorter in height than triangular guide rails, which means that the pet door panel would wobble on top of it rather than sitting flush with the rest of the track. To accommodate the pet door panel you will need to build up the sides of the triangular guide rail so that the tip is less than ¼” tall. What are some breeds of dogs these will fit? Small would be Chihuahuas, Yorkies, and cats. Medium would be good for Corgis, Jack Russell Terriers, and French Bulldogs. This means that you can adjust it to any stepover within that range. So if you have a puppy, you can keep adjusting it as he/she grows.
What does the recommended pet height mean? That column is what we recommend be the range of pet height that would be suitable for that particular flap size. So for example if you pet is 20"tall and could fit though a 10" wide opening, then you could go with the large flap.
What if my track is wider than 1-1/2"? It can still work if your track is wider, but if the channel in the bottom, top, or side measures less than that you will not be able to fit it into place properly.
What is the thickness of the Endura Flap aluminum panel? The Endura Flap Thermo Panel 3e is 1" thick. It is only thick enough for a single flap, not a double flap.
Will there be enough room for me to get through after the panel is installed? That depends on how wide your sliding glass door opens and how wide the panel you purchase is. Those dimensions can be found under the "Overall Panel Width" column.
Will this fit my aluminum sliding glass door? It could, but you risk condensation and an improper fit. Aluminum sliders have a narrow track, which vinyl panels may be too wide for. This is why we have the Liberty Pet Door Panel for Aluminum Sliding Glass Doors.
Will this form condensation like the aluminum panels? No condensation will form as long as you match the material of the frame with your slider. For example, if you have a vinyl slider, your panel should also be made of vinyl.
Will this panel work if my sliding glass door has a buried track? Some sliding glass doors have buried tracks. Since this panel has an arch along the bottom that is designed to sit on top of a pencil rail, it will not be secure in a slider with a buried track without modifications. We recommend securing the panel to the track wall with L brackets or toenailing it to the track wall. Toenailing is the process of fastening the panel to the track by driving a nail at roughly a 45-degree angle into the panel and through the track wall. Please note that these modifications result in a semi-permanent installation. If you needed to remove the panel in the future you would first have to remove the L brackets or nails. Additionally, please note that this process would leave holes in the pet door panel and it would no longer be returnable. Will this pet door work with Anderson and Pella sliding doors? Anderson and Pella sliding glass doors have an inner track wall but no outer track wall. Additionally, the pencil rail is on the outer edge of the track rather than in the middle. Since this pet door panel is designed to sit between two track walls and on top of a centered pencil rail, it cannot be installed in Anderson or Pella doors without modifications. We recommend building out your track and using L brackets or toenailing to secure the bottom of the panel to the inner track wall. Building out the track means adding a piece of wood or vinyl that is the same height as the pencil rail to the space next to the pencil rail. This creates a flat surface for the pet door panel to sit on. Next, you will need to secure the panel to the track wall. To do this, you can use L brackets or you can toenail the panel into the track wall. Toenailing is the process of fastening the panel to the track by driving a nail at roughly a 45-degree angle into the panel and through the track wall. Please note that these modifications result in a semi-permanent installation. If you needed to remove the panel in the future you would first have to remove the L brackets or nails. Will there be enough room for me to get through after the panel is installed?

That depends on how wide your sliding glass door opens and how wide the panel you purchase is. Those dimensions can be found under the "Overall Panel Width" column.

Will this fit my aluminum sliding glass door?

It could, but you risk condensation and an improper fit. Aluminum sliders have a narrow track, which vinyl panels may be too wide for. This is why we have the Liberty Pet Door Panel for Aluminum Sliding Glass Doors.

Will this form condensation like the aluminum panels?

No condensation will form as long as you match the material of the frame with your slider. For example, if you have a vinyl slider, your panel should also be made of vinyl.

Will this panel work if my sliding glass door has a buried track?

Some sliding glass doors have buried tracks. Since this panel has an arch along the bottom that is designed to sit on top of a pencil rail, it will not be secure in a slider with a buried track without modifications. We recommend securing the panel to the track wall with L brackets or toenailing it to the track wall. Toenailing is the process of fastening the panel to the track by driving a nail at roughly a 45-degree angle into the panel and through the track wall. Please note that these modifications result in a semi-permanent installation. If you needed to remove the panel in the future you would first have to remove the L brackets or nails. Additionally, please note that this process would leave holes in the pet door panel and it would no longer be returnable. Please reach out to customer service to further discuss your options for a buried track.

Will this pet door work with Anderson and Pella sliding doors?

Anderson and Pella sliding glass doors have an inner track wall but no outer track wall. Additionally, the pencil rail is on the outer edge of the track rather than in the middle. Since this pet door panel is designed to sit between two track walls and on top of a centered pencil rail, it cannot be installed in Anderson or Pella doors without modifications. We recommend building out your track and using L brackets or toenailing to secure the bottom of the panel to the inner track wall. Building out the track means adding a piece of wood or vinyl that is the same height as the pencil rail to the space next to the pencil rail. This creates a flat surface for the pet door panel to sit on. Next, you will need to secure the panel to the track wall. To do this, you can use L brackets or you can toenail the panel into the track wall. Toenailing is the process of fastening the panel to the track by driving a nail at roughly a 45-degree angle into the panel and through the track wall. Please note that these modifications result in a semi-permanent installation. If you needed to remove the panel in the future you would first have to remove the L brackets or nails. dog door

One of the plastic tabs at the flap hinge broke almost immediately. Doesn’t seem to affect operation. Otherwise, great product.

Quality Door

I purchased the Endura vinyl severe weather door, 94 inches tall with dual pane glass and double flappers. I am amazed how well insulated this door is and keeps the cold weather out. Flapper was a little harder for my medium sized dogs but with some training, they have adapted well. The door is thick and matches my slider in strength, color, and overall appearance. I should have bought it years ago!

Endura sever weather sliding glass dog door

The door arrived promptly and was easy to install. It is a vinyl door of good quality. The only issue is getting Buster our 10 year old Spitz to trust it...
