Product Details

Looking to install a Cat Mate lockable cat flap in your wall? The 2" Cat Mate Wall Liners for Cat Mate 221 Doors (CP400W Large Pet Flap Wall Liner) are here to help! These liners frame out the wall where you plan to install your cat flap and create a tunnel within the interior of the wall.

Before purchasing your wall liners, it's important to measure the thickness of your wall to ensure a proper fit. Keep in mind that the Cat Mate doors themselves frame out 2" right out of the box. You'll need to purchase wall liners based on the remaining amount of wall thickness after the 2" cat door is accounted for.

For example, if your wall is 8" thick, you'll need to purchase three wall liners: 6" of additional liner and 2" of the pet door. And if your wall is 7" thick, you'll also need to purchase three additional wall liners, and trim down accordingly for a functional fit.

This product only works with Cat Mate Doors and is not compatible with other small cat doors

Step 1 Cut the Interior Wall

  • Make sure that you measure the thickness of your wall and have the correct number of wall liners needed before making any rough openings in your wall.
  • It is very important that you do not cut into any wall framing, electrical, pipes, etc., so double check when picking a location for the pet door.
  • Making the rectangular cut: Take a level and pencil to mark the lines on the wall. The bottom of the cut should be level with your pet’s stomach. Ensure that the line is straight before moving on.
  • It is recommended that you use wood to frame out the opening, and take note that the finished framed-out opening should be 6-½” wide by 6 7/8" high.
  • Cut the interior hole out. Then remove the insulation inside.

Step 2 Cut the Exterior Wall

  • Drill holes from the inside through the exterior wall and use those as pilot holes for the outside cut. Be sure to remeasure on the outside for accuracy.
  • Tape up the inside hole with plastic sheeting or cardboard before cutting the outside wall. This will make clean up much easier.

  • Attach the exterior frame with two ¾” screws.
  • Insert the hole covers.
