Flaps & Parts For Your Pet Door
Need a new flap for your furry best friend? What about a heavy-duty locking cover to keep your pet dog safe? What about a waterproof collar key for your dog's collar? You can find any dog door replacement flap or accessory pet supplies here!
If you need a replacement flap for any dog door or cat door, locking cover, cat tunnels, or other pet door parts (such as a dog door insert replacement flap), you must order the correct brand. Accessories and parts ( including replacement pet door flaps ) are not interchangeable between brands or models from the same manufacturer, even if the dimensions seem to match. There have been a few brands and models like Security Boss and the Dogwalk flap that are similar to the Hale, but the Hale flaps will not work. Use dimensions to select the correct size within the brand only after the specific model has been correctly established (this is especially true for ideal pet door replacement parts). The one exception to this is the Pride flap, which can replace the Johnson or PetSafe Ultimate doors. Replacement slide in covers are also not interchangeable.
When measuring old flap sizes, be aware that they could have shrunk over time or warped due to the elements. Most flexible vinyl flaps will be smaller in size after use than their newer replacement dog door flaps.
We also offer miscellaneous weather-stripping, Charley-bars, draft stoppers, and, of course, the essential Bug Warden--for those of you who already have a sliding glass dog door and want ventilation on warm days. These items are universal, but you should consider measuring before selecting sizes or buying.
Shop our selection of replacement dog doors, flaps, collar keys, wall liners, locking covers, bug blockers, frames, and more. If you can't find the brand you're looking for, check out the pet doors Brands page or contact our customer service at 800 826 2871. We do carry other Endura replacement parts (such as the Endura wall kit) that are not on the website that can be ordered over the phone.
Replacement Flaps FAQs
What if my replacement part doesn’t fit?
We offer free returns; go to our returns page and we'll get you started on a return.

What if I don’t know the model/brand?
Use this table of replacement flap dimensions and this article about pet door replacement flaps to see which one your flap matches. The flaps do sometimes have a model or manufacturer name or part number embossed directly on them. Also, some will have the manufacturer's name on the frame or the replacement covers (aka replacement slides) that you use to close it off. If you can't find it, or you don't know what it means, simply take a picture and email it to our experts at customerservice@petdoors.com and we'll figure out what you need!
Does the flap come with hardware?
Doggie door replacement flaps generally only include the flap itself, no dog door screws or extra hardware like the flap holder since the hardware from the original flap can usually be reused! Some flaps do include extra parts, namely Hale replacement flaps and Endura Flaps, but generally, things like screws are not included.
What if it breaks again?
Most manufacturers have warranties on their products of at least one year. You can contact the manufacturer or have us contact them for you in the case that something breaks within the warranty period!
How hard is it to replace the flap?
Some replacement pet door flaps are straightforward to replace flaps; you simply unscrew the old and screw in the new! Other pet doors may require you to uninstall the pet door to access the components that hold the flap. There should be instructions on each product page under the Videos or Installations tabs, but if you still have questions, just email us at customerservice@petdoors.com.
What is the difference between dog or cat flaps?
The replacement cat door flaps tend to be more of a rigid polycarbonate or plexiglass material, while the dog flaps are usually a flexible material. It'll all depend on the brand, though.
What do I do if I have two flaps?
The pet door replacement flaps we have on the site are all sold individually, so if you are looking for a double flap replacement, then you need to order a quantity of two flaps.
Are all the cat tunnels the same?
No, they are all different even though they look similar. They are not interchangeable. It is best to find the cat door replacement flap made for your model and brand.
Do you have a Johnson doggie door replacement flap for my dog door?
We do not have the Johnson brand pet door replacement parts because they have been discontinued. However, we do carry Pride replacement flaps which fit as a replacement for Johnson and PetSafe Ultimate doors. Tons of customers have used Pride Flaps to replace their Johnson and PetSafe Ultimate pet doors.
My door just says "Made in USA", how do I know which flap I need?
If your dog door just says "Made in USA," you will need theIdeal Deluxe flap with the rectangular logo if your dog door is aluminum, or the Ideal Original Flap with the rectangular logo if yours is a plastic pet door frame.
Which model is the appropriate replacement flap for my Pet-Eze door?
The PetSafe "Classic" replacement flap is a suitable replacement for the Pet-Eze door. These flaps are being discontinued by PetSafe, so purchasing more than one might be a good choice while they are still available.
What is the difference between a single and double flap?
A single flap doggie door (in most cases) has one flap on the inside of the house while a double flap has two flaps, one on the inside and one of the outside of the house. Single flaps are less expensive, and depending on the climate, can be a better choice. Double flaps insulate better and are recommended for colder areas. Also, double flaps can be more difficult to train your pet to use compared to single flaps because for some timid pets, they may be reluctant to push harder to get through the door. In cases like this, the Endura Flap and the Hale Pet Doors have adjustable magnets to help with training.
My Endura Flap is too heavy for my dog to push, could I replace it with a different flap that is easier to push?
Dog door flap replacements are not interchangeable, but if your dog is having difficulty pushing the door open, you can adjust the magnet strength of the magnetic closure on the flap. We have an instructional video demonstrating how to adjust the magnet strength on the Endura Flap.

What flap doors do you have that are completely clear for my doggy door?
We have the Ideal “Original” replacement flap, the Ideal “Ruff Weather” replacement flap and the “Protector” pet door replacement flaps, as well as clear flaps manufactured by Hale. These are specific to the model and manufacturer and are not interchangeable between the brands.

Ideal “Original” Flap | Ideal “Ruff Weather” Flap & Protector Flap |
The only thing my flap has on it is the word "Medium" on it, what flap do I need?
This depends on the make and dimensions of the flap. The Ideal Original and Ideal Deluxe doors with the rectangular logo have this embossed in the middle of the flap, as well as some of the older Johnson and PetSafe Models. If the flap is clear go with one of the Ideal choices. If the flap is tinted and consists of two pieces, an inner and outer vinyl piece than you would have to go with the Pride as the Johnson flaps have been discontinued.
The measurements of my dog door flap is 15” x 20”. Can I buy that from you?
We do have replacement flaps made by Ideal in the Super Large (or XXL) size. These are specific to Ideal so you must have an Ideal pet door in order to use an Ideal flap.
Why is the replacement for my Pet-Eze door not long enough, is it the correct flap?
It is the correct flap, however, there has been a change in the manufacturing process with the newer Pet Eze doors. Some adjusting will have to be done on the customers end in order to get the flap to close tightly to the bottom.
The old Pet Eze doors have a manually adjusted bar. The newer doors had a floating magnet bar. This magnet bar is directly underneath the flap, and attracts the magnets in the flap. The magnet bar is about ½" wide and usually sticks up about ⅛" higher than the rest of the frame. At first glance it may appear that the frame is all one piece, but the center part does move. Over time, that manually adjusted bar drops too low. To adjust the flap properly, grasp the bar on the ends with a pair of pliers and pull it upward, using a wiggling motion. It will adjust out to the top of the frame where you can make it fit your new flap tightly.
I have a door with 3 plastic sections and rubber in between where it bends, what is it?
If you have a door that has 3 plastic sections with rubber in between where it bends, you either have an Ideal Ultra Flex, or the Ideal Draft Stopper Pet Door. The replacement flap for both models will be the same.
Ideal Ultra Flex, or the Ideal Draft Stopper Pet Door
What are some dog doors that have rigid flaps?
Plexidor, Mason Pet Doors, Gun Dog Doors, Carlson Pet Doors, Magnador, Cat-Mate, and all of the electronic or magnetic employ rigid flaps as well.
How do I determine what size flap is best for my size pet?
The most efficient way that you should measure your pet is from the bottom of their feet to the tallest part of their back, to get an understanding of what height you would need. To measure for width of a flap, you can open a door in your home wide enough for your pet to walk through comfortably with a little room on either side and measure that opening. Another approach is to cut an opening in a piece of cardboard to the exact flap dimension we have listed on the size chart, and see if your pet can pass through easily. This method typically works best for cats and small dogs. Remember, give a little extra height for a walk-through installation, or if both tall and short pets must share the same door.
No, generally flap warranties do not cover chewing by pets. Some kennel doors, like the Gun Dog pet doors, do cover chewing. You can view warranty information by clicking the “View Warranty” link under the review stars on each product page.
Why would I not want a rigid flap?
Rigid flaps can pinch your pet, causing injury. This occurs when the pet goes through only a little, as in putting a paw out, then abruptly pulls back. Since the rigid flap doesn't bend as the flexible types do, they can get caught between the flap and frame. Also, would you want to open a door with your face if the door was hard? Flexible flaps are safer are more “dog-face friendly”.
Can I buy just the U-shaped Pride frame?
No, the Pride Replacement Flap is sold only as a complete unit.
Does it screw in at the top or slide in?
There are really only two manufacturers that have flaps that will slide in at the top, PetSafe and Ideal (Deluxe Metal Frame). In both cases, there will be nubs that stick out at the top which slide into a channel at the top of the frame that holds the flap.
Don't know what brand I have can you help?
Yes, there are subtle differences that we can pull out if you email a photo to our customerservice@petdoors.com. Even though some doors look like they could be identical, as with Ideal and Barks bar brands, slight differences mean they will not work with each other.
Why are the replacement flaps as expensive as the door?
Prices change over time, so sometimes the price of a replacement flap may be the same price that you paid for a pet door several years ago. With some pet doors, the flap is the main component and where a significant portion of the cost is found. For cold weather doors, all the resistance to extreme weather is in the design of the flap and its magnets.

Do you carry parts for all models?
We do carry most replacement flaps, however some items like the metal bracket kit for PetSafe pet door panels and Ideal deluxe patio panel closing covers must be purchased directly from the manufacturer.
Why aren't pride flaps clear?
Pride decided to use recycled rubber to manufacture their flaps and don't offer them in a clear material.
