Can you lock the panel?

It doesn't come with a lock, but you can drill a hole through the panel and insert a pin lock.

Which doors go with the Small?

Any door with a flap opening up to a max of 14"w x 20"h.

Which doors would need the Large?

Pet doors with an maximum opening of 18"w x 28"h.

Do I have to use this with Gun Dog Doors?

No, as long as you making sure that the dimensions of the pet door you are trying to cover fall under the maximum opening sizes it should work.

Is the panel going to be durable?

Closing panels by gundog doors are very durable, and that is why we recommend it being used for kennels.

Can I install it myself?

Since it does require some drilling as long as you are fairly handy you should be able to DIY through a door. However, in any wall installation you want to be super careful not to drill into any wiring, plumbing, or framing.

Does it only come in white?

You can paint the panel, but off the shelf it would be white.

Would I use this with a pet door or just by itself?

You can do either, but without a pet door when it's open it will not offer any insulation value.

Is there a bottom?

This would only be the 2 side channels, so if you wanted to make a stopper a the bottom you could put in a small screw or dowel right below the bottom of the slide. This would act as a stop so the bottom of the panel would rest on that when in place.

Could I hook up a pulley system for this?

Yes, but we would suggest that you go with the Gun Dog Guillotine Door, as that has the longer channels.

They no longer make the petsafe closing panel for my door, will this work?

You can really use this closing door panel with any pet door as long as the dimension are good and you have a way to mount the side channels on your current frame.

They don't make the petsafe closing panel for my door any longer, will this work?

Yes, as long as the opening is no larger than 18"w by 28"h it will fit over it. The only trick is that you do have to mount the channels to the frame on your current door, which could be tricky if you aren't handy.

Can I use this as a replacement flap for my large dog door?

We would not recommend it since your x-large dog wouldn't be able to use their patio door. Replacement flaps are brand-specific. If you need the perfect pet door replacement flap in a super large size, we would suggest checking out what replacement flaps the manufacturer of your large door has to offer.
