This electronic cat door opens with magnetic sensing technology to ensure that only your cats are able to come and go from the pet door. Provided with one magnetic collar key and a breakaway collar, this electronic door senses the magnetic smartkey on your pet's collar as your kitty approaches and opens when they are close enough to the door. This way, any cat without a collar sensor will be prohibited from entering. Don't worry any longer about neighborhood cats or wild animals sneaking into your home. These electronic cat doors are built to keep your cats safe.
- Self-framing adjustment range fits doors 1 1/4" - 1 3/4"
- Plastic frame comes in white only
- 3-way locking device: in only, out only, or completely unlocked without the need for a collar key
- Clear, unbreakable polycarbonate flap is 7" x 9" to fit bigger cats
- Includes one magnetic key and a breakaway collar. If you intend to use your own collar, make sure that there is not any other metal on it, as it will interfere with the magnetic sensing and prevent the doggie door from functioning properly
- Operates on a 9-volt battery (not included)
- Prevent neighborhood cats and wild critters from entering the house
- Keeps your cats safe from raccoons and strays
- You won't have to get up to let the cat in and out during all hours of the day

Step 5: Insert the outer frame into the exterior opening (frame must be flush with door surface).

Ideal Electronic 'E-Cat' Cat Door
How does my cat access this door?
There is 1 collar key included (which your cat would wear) that allows them exclusive access through the magnetic cat flap door
How do I lock the panel to my sliding glass door?
The door comes with a pin lock (that needs tools to be installed), or you can purchase a Charley Bar (no tools installation) for added security.
What climate is this ecat suited for?
This panel is best used in moderate climates and is not recommended for extreme weather. For a weatherproof automatic dog door, we recommend the Sureflap Microchip pet door. This electronic pet door uses their microchip instead of a collar tag on your dog's collar to give your pet full access to the door (FYI, your pet should be microchipped).
Is this door electronically controlled both ways?
No, electronic control is in one direction only.
Will this prevent raccoons?
No, this would not be considered raccoon resistant. If you want a raccoon-proof, automatic pet door, we would recommend the Petsafe Electronic Smart Door, the Cat Mate / Dog Mate pet door series, and the High Tech Power Pet Electronic pet door. Please note that the High Tech Pet Door requires an ultrasonic collar key attachment on their dog collar, and the Petsafe Smartdoor is not waterproof. Many of the Cat Mate pet doors have 4-way access control and curfew settings for each pet using the door.
Does this come with a rechargeable battery?
No. It uses a 9 volt battery, which is not included.
Does this door panel come in custom heights like the Custom Ideal Fast Fit?
No, but you can order one size down from what you need to fit your sliding door track height wise and get an Ideal Fast Fit height extension separately.
What can I do if the 4" step over is too high for my cat?
Unfortunately the step overs cannot be customized for this panel, but you can look into a wooden block step or a ramp to make it easier for your cat to get through.
Is this good for dogs?
Since triggering the door's directional sensing system can be tricky for pets other than cats, as the ideal magnet must brush the bottom frame, they don't suggest this for dogs. Some pet owners have managed to make this work for small dogs, but large dogs will have trouble and will not fit. Dog owners should check out our selection of the best electronic dog doors to find one that will work for their K9.
Can I purchase replacement ideal magnets?
Yes you can get more Ideal E-Cat collar keys.
Can more than 1 cat use this door?
Yes! You can purchase additional collar keys for the flap system, and there is no limit to the number of pets that can use it.
Can replacement keys be ordered?
We carry Ideal magnetic collar keys.
Does this have a double flap?
No, this automatic door only has one flap, which lowers it's energy efficiency rating. However, the magnets lining the bottom of the flap create an airtight seal, which will help it resist weather conditions.
Can I use this as a wall entry pet door?
Yes, this makes a great wall installation. If your wall is thicker than the self-framing range, you may need a wall installation kit in order to not damage your wall. Needing to frame out the wall is not an easy installation and may require professional assistance.
