The Extreme Weather Sliding Glass Pet Door is meticulously crafted with dual-paned glass, weather stripping, and three insulated flaps with magnetic seals to help keep the hot or cold weather out and maintain a comfortable temperature indoors. Choose from two flap sizes, medium (8 3/4” x 13 3/16”) for pets under 13" tall and large (10 1/4” x 16 3/8”) for pets under 19.5" tall, to ensure the perfect fit for your furry friend.

Installation is a breeze, requiring no tools and allowing for both adhesive or screw installation, making it ideal for pet owners on the move. This pet door fits into existing sliding glass door tracks next to your sliding glass door, adjusting to heights from 75 7/8" to 81" for seamless integration into your home.

For added security, the PetSafe Extreme Weather Sliding Glass Pet Door comes with a charley bar, allowing you to lock your sliding glass door without compromising your home's safety. Step 1 Connect the top and bottom panels

  • Slide one connecting bar, with the holes facing outwards, into the bottom panel. Secure with two short flat screws and tighten until resistance is felt. Repeat with the other bar on the opposite side.
  • Slide the top panel onto the connecting bars. Secure with two short flat screws on each side and tighten until resistance is felt.

Step 2 Insert the pet door

  • Remove the cardboard inserts from under the height adjuster. Insert the pet door panel into the upper door track of the sliding glass door.
  • Press up to compress the spring-loaded height adjuster, then lift the bottom of the pet door panel into the lower door track.
  • Push the pet door panel flush against the edge of the sliding glass door frame.

Step 3 Attach the T-brackets

  • Use a pencil and mark the sliding door frame: At the top center of the pet door panel and 1/2 inch from the bottom edge.
  • Slide the pet door panel flush against the open sliding door.
  • Clean the back of both T-brackets using rubbing alcohol and apply the adhesive strip to the top and inside of the bracket.

Step 4 Install the T-Bracket (With Adhesive)

  • Clean the upper and lower sliding glass tracks near the mark and let dry completely.
  • Line the middle of the T-bracket up with the lower mark and hold it on the lower sliding glass track to secure the adhesive.
  • Line the T-bracket up with the upper mark and hold it on the upper sliding glass track to secure the adhesive.
  • Slide the pet door panel all the way into the door jamb.
  • Ensure that the pet door panel is aligned with the T-brackets. Apply pressure to the T-Brackets to secure the adhesive to the pet door panel.

Step 5 Install the T-Bracket (With Screws)

  • Hold the T-Bracket on the lower sliding glass door track and line up the middle edge of the bracket with the previously made mark.
  • Mark inside the holes with a pencil.
  • Drill through the marks.
  • Line the T-bracket up with the drilled holes. Secure it using a Phillips screwdriver and two short pointed screws.
  • Repeat steps 1-4 to attach the T-bracket to the top of the door frame.

Step 6 Secure the Pet Door

  • Slide the pet door panel all the way into the door jamb.
  • Drill through the hole on the upper T-bracket.
  • Attach the T-bracket using a short pointed screw.
  • Drill through the hole on the lower T-bracket.
  • Attach the T-bracket using a short pointed screw.

Step 7 Apply the Glass Sweep

  • Place the glass sweep along the back edge of the sliding glass door. Position the adhesive to the outer edge of the door having the sweep brush against the fixed door.
  • Peel the backing off starting at the top and press in place while moving down the door. Ensure the sweep is lightly brushing the fixed door.
  • Trim any excess glass sweep with scissors.

Step 8 Apply the weather strip

  • Position the weather stripping along the edge of sliding glass door.
  • Peel the back off starting at the top and press the stripping in place until you reach the bottom of the door.
  • Trim any excess weather stripping with scissors.

Step 1 Attach the clip

  • Snap the clip onto the security bar.
  • Hook the bar onto the bracket and hold in place.

Step 2 Install the bar

  • Place the security bar at the desired height and remove the pin to extend the inner rod to the necessary length. There are eight different length settings.
  • Further adjust the length by rotating the threaded end of the security bar. Extend or retract the bar as needed for the exact fit on your sliding glass door.
  • Mark the sliding door frame to indicate where to mount the bracket and clip.

Step 3 Mount the clip and bracket (with adhesive)

  • Clean the back of the clip and bracket with rubbing alcohol. Allow to dry and apply the adhesive strips.
  • Place the clip and bracket onto the marked spots of the door frame and press to secure the adhesive.

Step 3b Mount the clip and bracket (with screws)

  • Align the clip on the marked line.
  • Mark inside the holes with a pencil.
  • Drill through the marked holes.
  • Secure the clip with screws until resistance is felt.

Step 4 How to Use the Charley Bar

  • Hook the bar into the bracket and swing the bar out.
  • Swing the bar up and over, then snap into the clip.

Warranty Type: One Year Non-Transferable Limited Warranty

Duration: Valid for one (1) year from the purchase date for the original retail consumer purchaser only.

Coverage:

  • PetSafe product will be free from defects in material or workmanship when subject to normal and proper residential use.

  • Labor and parts are covered for the first year of ownership.

  • In the event of a defect, PetSafe will replace the part with a new or refurbished part.

Exclusions:

  • Products represented as used, refurbished, or “as-is”, or not in the original packaging are not covered.

  • Warranty does not cover damage or defects caused by animals, commercial use, misuse, neglect, improper installation, use of non-PetSafe accessories, events beyond normal residential conditions, and any cause not involving manufacturing defects.

  • Does not cover labor for removal or installation of parts.
