  • Dog door replacement flap for all Pride Pet Doors and the discontinued Johnson Pet Door & PetSafe Ultimate
  • Made with heavy duty black rubber for optimal durability and weather resistance
  • Blocks sunlight and improves insulation
  • Magnets keep flap sealed
  • Comes in black only, sizes small - extra large

The Pride pet door replacement flaps fit the Pride pet doors, Johnson doors, and the PetSafe Ultimate. The Johnson and PetSafe Ultimate (formerly known as Johnson Ultimate) designs have been discontinued by the manufacturer, but these flaps fit the models for the small - extra large doors. Please note that the small size only works for the Pride pet doors. If you don't want the hassle of installing an entire replacement pet door, these flaps are the only option for maintaining your original Johnson or the PetSafe Ultimate.

Please Note: The black flap prevents pets from being able to see through the pet door. For safety, make sure that when the cover is in place, the pets are on the same side as the cover so that they can see it.

  • Flaps are made of a thick, recycled black rubber, which blocks the sun
  • Comes in black only
  • Magnet(s) at the bottom of the flap (and on the sides for the X-Large) secures door when it's not in use
  • 2 part flap design is the same as the Johnson/PetSafe Ultimate designs: features a rectangular inner flap and an outer U-shaped piece

  • Firm, strong build keeps out rain, cold, and heat
  • Black flap pet door won't show dirt
  • Design is thicker and more well-made than the original plastic Johnson flaps
  • Prevents purchase of an entirely new pet door

Small Size Only:

We have had a large number of returns of the small size, which indicates that the Small Pride Flap is not such a good fit as the other sizes. The Small has nubs at the top and slides into a channel. This holds it in place rather than having to screw it in like the small Johnson/Ultimate flaps, so that size might not work without modification. Customers have been able to modify the small and use it in their PetSafe pet doors, but it is not a simple substitute.

Is there a clear flap available?

No, these flaps are made from a thick black, heavy rubber. Since flaps aren't generally interchangeable there is not one from another manufacturer or model that would be compatible that is clear. The Pride screen doors, sliding glass door patio pet doors and aluminum frame, single flap pet door for doors all come with the black rubber flaps originally. The discontinued PetSafe Ultimate doors are designed the same as Pride doors with two piece flaps (inner flap and outer U-shaped piece), but start with a clear flap.

Can the locking cover for the Pride be used for the old Johnson/Ultimate pet doors as well?

No, the flaps are interchangeable however the locking covers are not. While we carry a number of PetSafe replacement parts, you'll need to contact the manufacturer directly for a replacement locking cover.

Does it come with the hardware?

No, it does not come with hardware so you would have to use existing screws. In some cases customers have had to purchase longer screws if they are using this to replace the johnson pet door. This is because the Pride is a thicker flap.

Will this fit my Johnson or Ultimate door?

We have had thousands of customers use these flaps, but there is an issue with the SMALL flaps. Since they slide into a bar at the top, they have small nubs and not screw holes. The size is correct so customers have trimmed off the nubs, drilled their own screw holes, and cut off the small nubs that stick out at the top of the "U" gasket on each side. This DIY option for the small dog/cat flap might work, but it is not a simple fix. You might consider adding a replacement cat door to your pet wish list instead. Pride medium-extra large pet door flaps will work for your Johnson door-- PetSafe (Radio Systems) bought Johnson pet supplies and started producing the same doggie door design under the name PetSafe ultimate.

Does the door have magnets?

The pride pet doors replacement flaps do come with magnets. The Small has 1 in the center, the Medium has 2 at the bottom evenly spaced, the Large has 3 at the bottom evenly spaced, and the Extra Large has 3 at the bottom evenly spaced along with 1 on each side.

Is this flap heavy?

Pride flaps do tend to be heavier than other flexible models as they are thicker. This can cause issues if you a replacing a Johnson or Ultimate door, and have large and small pets sharing. Consider checking out the PetSafe Extreme Weather Pet Door for a durable pet door that is also easy for small pets to push through.

Where do I measure?

In order to get the right size you need to measure inside the "U" gasket. This is the smallest opening for the pet, so that is what they go by. The Johnson pet door replacement flaps were measured the same way.

What are the model numbers that are compatible with you stock codes?

Small - SD300, Medium - MD400, Large - LD500, and Extra Large - XLD600

What are the model numbers that are compatible with the Johnson/Ultimate stock numbers?

Small: S-2, Medium: M-2, Large: L-2, and Extra Large: XL-4

Does this replacement include both the inner and outer “U” flaps?

Can I just get the U-shaped piece?

Unfortunately not, we do not sell that piece separately.

Do you carry other ld 500 parts or just the ld 500 replacement flaps?

We do have the flaps and the covers.

Why is the flap black?

The flap is actually made from recycled tires, that is what gives it the black color. If you have the PetSafe Ultimate and do not want a black flap, you may need to consider replacement doors. If you are looking for similar weather resistance, the ideal pet products Ruff Weather Pet Door is a good option, with tinted (rather than solid black) flaps that might be more comfortable for your pet. It comes in sizes small-super large to work for all pets from cats to large dogs.

For the XLD600 Pride C-Large Deluxe which is the correct flap?

The stock code is 10ZS04, but the manufacturer part number is XLD600A.

I can't find Ultimate Replacement Flap. Will replacement pride flaps work?

Pride flap replacement is designed to replace the Medium, Large and Extra Large PetSafe Ultimate flaps. If you have a small, you'll need to replace the entire pet door with a new Small Pride Pet Door.

Will the replacement flap Pride replace the PetSafe SKUs: S-VA-11, M-VA-11, L-VA-11, X-VA-11?

Pride Replacement flaps can be substituted for PetSafe Ultimate S-VA-11, M-VA-11, L-VA-11, X-VA-11 with the exception of the S-VA-11. For that size you will need to replace the entire pet door.

Will the Pride flap replacement sd 300 work on my PetSafe Ultimate s-2-11 pet door?

The Pride SD 300 replacement flap will only work with Pride Pet Door Frames. Some owners have successfully modified it to work with their PetSafe, but we do not have the work-around. Additionally, once the flap has been altered it is non-returnable. We recommend replacing the entire pet door.

What do I order for a Pride LD500A Flap Assembly replacement?

You will need to order the Large size for the LD500 replacement flap.

I need a pride flap assembly for my MD400 model, what should I order?

You will need to order the Medium flap.

Installation Instructions

Tools Required: a medium Phillips head screwdriver

Please Note: The replacement flap does not come with new hardware, as you should be able to use the original hardware. If your old screws are compromised, you will have to purchase new ones. This flap installs easiest with two people.

Step 1: Remove center screws from top of metal pet door frame. Loosen the two outer screws but, DO NOT remove outer screws at this time. Save screws.

Step 2: Pull old rubber panel out of metal frame and discard. Insert new rubber panel with brand name "Pride" facing out and steel spike plates facing in, towards rubber U-frame. Line up holes in new rubber panel with holes in metal frame. Replace screws, but do not tighten completely

Step 3: Remove two outer screws from top of metal pet door frame. Save screws. Pull out old U-frame. Insert new rubber U-frame, being sure magnets on bottom face the metal strike plates on panel and frame. Replace screws. Do not tighten completely.

Step 4: Check to make sure that magnets line up with metal strike plates, and that the rubber panel and U-frame swing easily in the metal frame. Adjust if necessary.

Step 5: Tighten screws securely, but do not tighten with extra force since this could cause swinging panels to hang improperly.

Please Note: If installing the small model into a Pride model, it slides into the track.
