- Pride Pet Doors dog door cover replacement
- Made with fiberboard material
- One side is white for added visibility
- Fits Pride Pet Doors only
- Available for all sizes
The Pride Dog Door Locking Covers for Pride Pet Doors are made of fiberboard with one side enameled white, serving as a stark contrast to the black flap. This is to ensure that the pet is aware that the dog door cover is in place. It is recommended to place the doggie door cover on the same side of the door as your pet so that they are able to see that the pet door is blocked. In the event that your pet is on the opposite side and happens to run through the flap, the pet door covers are designed to break so that your pet is not injured by the force of contact. The Pride Pet Doors manufacturer numbers are located on the label that is on the frame. As long as the label matches the manufacturer part number, do not worry if your measurement is slightly different.

Please Note: The Pride replacement locking cover is white on one side and brown on the other. The white side is to alert your pet that the door is locked.
Before securing your locking cover, it is recommended to have the white side on the side of the flap that your pet is on. If you want your pet to stay outside, it is a good idea to have the white side facing the outdoors, so your pet knows not to run through the door. This is recommended for your pet’s safety. The same idea is applied when your pet is locked inside. If you do place the locking cover on the outside, make sure to remove it during rainy weather, as this can damage the cover.
INSTALLATING THE COVER
With the white side facing the same side as your pet, slide the locking cover into the track of the pet door frame. The cover can be slid on both the interior and exterior track.
Can this be used with the Johnson or Ultimate pet doors?
These do not serve as PetSafe Ultimate or Johnson Pet Door Replacement Flaps or related products. This is only for the Pride doggy door and the thickness and sizes are not compatible so you would not be able to interchange it for a petsafe locking cover.
Will this be able to go on the outside?
You can use the sliding door cover door installation on either side, but you will not want to use it on the exterior in bad weather since it is just fiberboard and water can damage it.
What is it made out of?
The panel is fiberboard, which is painted on one side.
Why don't they make something more sturdy?
The door flap being black can pose an issue if your pet is locked out on the opposite side. It is not heavy duty because if they choose to come running through and hit the cover it will break away as a safety measure, especially if you have a small dog.
Are there any covers that I can use instead?
No, but you could fabricate your own locking cover door insert out of a different material, but we don't recommend that for the safety issue it could pose.
Can you get this in a different color?
No, however you can most certainly paint it.
I am not finding my measurements on the size chart?
We are going by the dimensions of the pet door features, so the best way to get the right one is to measure the outside frame of your Pride door.
I also need the flap?
Yes, we have Pride pet door replacement flaps.
Could I use two at the same time?
Yep, you can use one locking security cover on the inside and one on the outside.
Does it lock?
The security door cover will not have a lock that you can use that would go through it to hold it closed.
Do you sell a Locking cover replacement for Pride Pet Doors.
Yes we do. We have them for all four sizes.
