The High Tech battery serves as either the main or backup power supply for the High tech Power Pet Electronic Pet Door. This 12-volt rechargeable battery ensures that the pet door will still function in the case that the power goes out for quick high-tech battery solutions. For those using the pet door without a wall outlet, the High Tech charger and battery kit guarantees that a charged, spare replacement battery is always on hand. The 12v rechargeable battery lasts around two weeks before needing to be recharged. When not in use, the battery recharges when the pet door regains power.
Is this a lithium-ion battery?
This is not a lithium battery ( also known as a li-ion battery). Instead, it is a sealed lead acid battery (also known as a sla battery).
How much battery power does this have?
This is a rechargeable 12v battery, which means that it is 12-volt and 1300 mah).
Is it possible for me to use a different type of battery type for my door?
Technically, it is possible but High Tech Power Pet guarantees that their battery (SKU B-12V-1.3) will last for 100 cycles. Using a different battery might be getting a lower amount of voltage (AA and AAA batteries usually have less than 3000mah). Some companies like UPG have their own brand of similar batteries, but batteries with similar specs (such as the Mighty Max Battery 12v dc) cannot be guaranteed to last for 100 door cycles.
Where are the batteries manufactured?
High Tech Power Pet is a company located in the United States that perform extensive quality checks on their door parts and 12v battery packs, which are manufactured outside the United States.
Can I use my Deep Cycle Lifepo4 battery for my door?
We do not recommend it since the High Tech Power Pet Door has a battery made specifically for it.
High Tech Pet Products Warranty
All of our products carry a full one year warranty.
If your product fails to operate at any time, for any reason, within one year of the original delivery date we will repair or replace it at our expense, no questions asked. If it doesn't work, send it back, get another one. It's that quick and easy.
A Few Simple Rules:
Your product must be returned to High Tech Pet Products and must be clean and free of pet hair, dust and dander. Items that are dirty or containing pet hair and requiring cleaning will be subject to a charge equal to 25% of the original purchase price. We will ship the repaired or replaced product back to you via FedEx ground or USPS priority mail, at our expense however, you are responsible for the cost of shipping the defective product to us. In no case will High Tech Pet Products arrange or pay for the shipping of the defective product from your location to ours. Should you request the product to be sent out via air service, we will be happy to accommodate your request however, you will be required to pay the entire cost of the expedited service. ALL products, including pet doors, must be returned to us before we send out a replacement unit. We must receive and examine the defective unit before the repaired or replaced unit is shipped out to you. There are no exceptions to this policy.. When returning a product for repair or replacement, you must allow at least 1 – 2 weeks for replacement plus shipping time each way. In some cases, especially for special order items, the replacement time may be longer.
Step 1: Locate the battery component at the top left of the pet door (where the controls are located on the inside of the home).
Step 2: Press the tab on the side of the pet door to release the cover on the compartment.
Please Note: You will not be able to see the tab, as it is on the side of the panel.
Step 3: Make sure to align the two lugs that are on the battery with the sockets that are located on the inside wall of the battery compartment.
Step 4: Push the battery in so that it fits into the sockets.
Please Note: You should not have to force it for it to fit.
Step 5: Place the cover back on the pet door and snap it into place.
