Restore the reliable close and privacy of your Pride pet door with a durable black rubber replacement flap compatible with Pride doors and many Johnson and PetSafe Ultimate models.

A tired flap can make an otherwise solid pet door feel loose, drafty, or less secure than it should. This black Pride replacement flap gives the door a fresh working surface so pets can keep using the opening they already know.

The black rubber design is the classic Pride-style option. It creates a more private opening than a clear flap and helps block direct sunlight through the pet door, which can be helpful for bright doors, patios, and high-use exterior spaces.

This flap is especially useful for keeping older Pride, Johnson, and PetSafe Ultimate doors in service. Instead of changing the full pet door or altering the existing cutout, the right matching flap can bring the door back to a cleaner everyday feel.

For pets who hesitate at darker openings, the clear flap option may be a better fit. Black flaps also prevent pets from seeing a locking cover from the opposite side, so pets should be kept on the same side as the cover when it is installed.

Small size note: the Small flap uses top nubs that slide into a channel and does not install the same way as the Medium, Large, and Extra Large screw-mounted sizes. It is not an exact replacement for Small Johnson or PetSafe Ultimate flaps, though DIY modification may be possible.

Questions

What's in the box?

  • Pride Flap (hardware not included)

I can't find the Pet Safe Ultimate Replacement Flap. Will the replacement Pride flaps work?

The Pride flap replacement is designed to replace the Medium, Large and Extra Large PetSafe Ultimate flaps. If you have a small, you'll need to replace the entire pet door with a new Small Pride Pet Door.

Does the door have magnets?

The Pride pet doors replacement flaps do come with magnets. The Small has 1 in the center, the Medium has 2 at the bottom evenly spaced, the Large has 3 at the bottom evenly spaced, and the Extra Large has 3 at the bottom evenly spaced along with 1 on each side.

Does it come with the hardware?

No, it does not come with hardware so you would have to use existing screws. In some cases customers have had to purchase longer screws if they are using this to replace the Johnson pet door. This is because the Pride is a thicker flap.

Parts

  • Pride Flap (hardware not included)

Tools

  • Phillips Head Screwdriver

Step 1 Remove Old Main Flap

  • Remove center screws from top of metal pet door frame. Save screws—you will replace them in Step 2.
  • Loosen, but do not remove, the outer screws.
  • Pull old rubber panel out of metal frame and discard.

Step 2 Insert New Main Flap

  • Insert new rubber panel with brand name 'Pride' facing outward. Steel spike plates should face inward toward the rubber U-frame.
  • Line up holes in new rubber panel with holes in metal frame.
  • Replace center screws, but do not tighten completely.

Step 3 Insert New U Flap

  • Now remove the two outer screws completely. Save them for Step 4.
  • Pull out old U-frame.
  • Insert new rubber U-frame. Ensure that the magnets on the bottom face the metal strike plates on the panel and frame.
  • Replace screws. Do not tighten completely.

Step 4 Tighten Screws

  • Check to make sure that magnets line up with metal strike plates, and that the rubber panel and U-frame swing easily in the metal frame.
  • Adjust if necessary.
  • Tighten screws securely, but do not tighten with extra force since this could cause swinging panels to hang improperly.
  • If installing the small model into a Pride model, it slides into the track.
