  • It’s exactly what I was looking for review by Sandra
    5 5 It’s exactly what I was looking for

We installed a pet door in our slider a year ago and noticed the draft from the back edge of the now partially opened door. I wondered how I could stuff some sort of insulation in there, but could not think of what would work, so I googled draft in slider pet door. There it was! It was super easy to install and it really works.

The draft stopper works perfectly! Easy to install and covers 100% of the gap when you install a doggie door into a sliding door. I highly recommend the Panel Draft Stopper!

    5 5 Perfect

The original draft I got from a different company was terrible and fell off in a week. This stuff is still sticking strong and it was great to have color choice of white so you don't even notice it's there. Easy to install, highly recommend.

  • Some improvement noted review by Patricia
    5 3 Some improvement noted

The flexible rubber was easy to cut and work with to install. Attached it on the stationary (non-moving) exterior door. It's been up about a week and the adhesive has staying power, it just isn't very airtight as I was hoping based on the reviews. It is wide enough to cover the span of the opening between the stationary and moving door but the air is still whistling through, though it is better than it was. Maybe it's just our doors. Service was efficient and shipping was fast.

  • Hopefully resolves problem review by Lorelei
    5 5 Hopefully resolves problem

Purchased a doggie door from Home Depot. It came with weather stripping that fell off almost immediately. I ordered a 'draft stopper' strip and have put it on the door - so far so good. I didn't realize their was a gap between the two glass doors until the wind blew hard enough to make the blinds move. I'm really hoping this is the best solution to the problem. I'm confident the draft has been greatly reduced, if not totally.

A/C and heat were going right out the gap in the slider. Made for a very uncontrollable temperature in the room. Now everything is perfect no more draft, no more cold air. I wish I would have bought this long time ago.

  • Excellent Product review by Daryl
    5 5 Excellent Product

This draft stopper was the perfect tool for the job. It worked way better than I expected. The adhesive that secures it to the door is very sticky, which is perfect for the amount of opening and closing a sliding door goes through. I would highly recommend this product. I haven't found anything close to this in any hardware stores.

  • Excellent draft stopper for doggie door'd sliding glass door review by John
5 5 Excellent draft stopper for doggie door'd sliding glass door

I have been looking for a draft stopper of this quality for a while and the one from PetDoor.com works great. We have a doggie door on our sliding glass door which doesn't let it slide close completely so there is a gap and draft. This sticky tape on this is strong and the material slides nicely when opening and closing the sliding glass door. It's hefty enough to keep it from getting drafty and I don't have any concerns with the reliability.

It is winter and we used to have a draft down here and the house would always feel cool, now the temperature stays stable inside and haven't had a cold draft since installing the draft stopper. I would not hesitate to buy this product again from PetDoors.com.

Good ordering system, prompt shipping, and the product works.

  • Would recommend review by Bob
    5 5 Would recommend

The item arrived in a timely manor and well packed even during Christmas. I installed the sliding glass door draft stopper in about 15 - 20 minutes. Because it is winter here in New York I used a heat gun to warm up the door and the tape on the draft stopper. The draft stopper works very well. I bought two and they are still in place and I can honestly say it keeps my living room much warmer. I would recommend and have done so to others.

5 5 An extra for the outside of the door

We purchased this in addition to the one that comes with the door, so we could use it on the outside pane, but, so far we haven't needed to use it. The one we affixed to the moveable door sends to be sufficient.

  • works well and minimizes drafts review by Yena
5 4 works well and minimizes drafts

Works well so far - already feeling the effects of the draft stopper. I can see what other people are saying about the adhesive, though. I think it's because it's really cold where I am, so the adhesive might dry up and need some reinforcements later on, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

Don't have a doggy door but glad to run into this. It closes that gap and just needs to be stuck on to it. Any adhesive works so I might add command strips or something simple to keep it stuck instead of buying another one

    5 4 overall a positive addition

The stopper is white and looks much better than the weatherstripping we had been using. The only potential issue is how well the adhesive is going to hold up. My husband said it was already showing signs of weakness.

This works much better than the seal that actually came with our pet door. Very easy to apply and sticks well to the door frame. It is also very flexible and seals against the glass nicely.

  • Good durable strip review by Glen
    5 5 Good durable strip

I put the strip up and by the afternoon it had peeled away from the door. The strip of tape just wasn't holding the strip in place. Pet Door replaced the strip and this time I laid it out and rerolled it so that it did not have a curl causing it to pull away. This helped some but the next day it was also pulling away and would not stay up. I then decided to drill small hoes in the strip and door frame and used screws and washers to hold it in place. That did the job and it now is working just fine.

Bought a home with existing doggie door (how did we ever do without one?) But the draft stopper was cracked and not functional. We ordered the white panel draft stopper from petdoors. • So Far So Good review by Leslie
5 4 So Far So Good

I did not buy my door from Pet Door. My door from Pet Safe sent me a hideous black draft stopper to use on my white sliding glass door. When I called to see about getting a different color, I was told by Pet Safe that the draft stopper only came in black. Because I refused to put it on my white door, I stayed up all night mopping water from hurricane Irma. By luck I found this white door stopper from Pet Doors. I hope I never get to test it in a hurricane. It does keep the drafts and bugs out better. It looks great.

  • Found what I needed! review by Josh
    5 5 Found what I needed!

I had just jammed a towel in the crack between the two sliding glass door panels for a couple of months in our new house after installing a doggie door panel. I was thinking some weatherstripping of some sort would work there, but could not find exactly what I wanted. After several attempts searching I found this product. It has been up for a couple of weeks and no issues with it coming off - I did follow the directions and cleaned the area with alcohol first. No draft or air coming through. I had to make a few cuts to fit at the top and I had to remove the security magnet and re-stick it on top of the draft stopper which worked without issue using some double-sided foam tape. I would buy this product again. Note that I live in central Florida, so I cannot speak to its ability to keep cold air out, but it at least keeps the bugs out and creates a good enough seal.

  • Works great, but need suggestion for wood review by Kitster
5 4 Works great, but need suggestion for wood

This product came worth or dog door and is been fabulous, on the dog door with the flap going towards where the sliding door meets it.
We need something for where the stationary door meets the sliding door, like this is shown to do. We got something from the hardware store, but our door is wood and it wouldn't stick to the wood. Any suggestions?

Editors note: We have had customers use the Draft Stopper on wood in the past, as the adhesive on this product is very strong and should stick to most surfaces.

(Ed. Note: The customer was contacted to send out another draft stopper but no response was received)

I swear all of these reviews must be made by the company. This piece of plastic is a joke. I live in the NE and there is no way this piece of rubber plastic is going to stop the air from coming between the large gap the dog door makes. AND it peeled right off twice (got a 2nd one) because it was cold out and the glue doesn't stick. These 5 star reviews are company-generated.

My husband and I used this in conjunction with the small kitty door kit. it was the trick we needed to help seal out the incoming air from outside. However, we have two sliding glass doors that enter onto the lanai. one door we have set up permanently for the kitty. She loves her door and new found freedom to the screen room.

The adhesive is not good and it is not sticking to the door. For the cost, I would not recommend to any one.

ed. note - Our experience has been that if the user doesn't clean the surface well, the adhesion is poor. On a clean surface the adhesive is very strong.

What a difference the Draft Stopper makes. The old pet door we had did not have one of these. We tried to stop the cold from coming in with duct tape. Terrible idea. Yes! Some of our customers in more extreme climates do so to ensure maximum insulation.

For any height less than 81" or 96", you can use a pair of scissors to trim the draft stopper to the desired length. So for example if your panel is white and your sliding track is 75" then you would get the draft stopper 81" in white. For any sliding glass doors taller than 96", you can purchase 2 draftstoppers and trim the second one to fit the remaining height you need.

The draft stopper covers gaps up to 1 1/2" wide

You can trim the Endura Flap Draft Stopper Center Post Weatherstrip to the desired width as well.

Yes, you can apply it the same way to the back edge of the stationary window.

Black and white.

It is not recommended unless you use an additional sealant as the paint may flake off once the rubber expands and contracts due to weather conditions.

Yes, this patio door draft stopper or center-post weatherstrip is extremely versatile and can be used with any model of slider or window panel.

No, they are the same color and same length, but are used for different applications.

We've included one draft stopper in all Thermo Panel 3e, Quick Panel 3e and Thermo Panel 3e Microchip sliding glass doors, so unless you need another one, it is not necessary to purchase another!
