This will work with any brand panel pet door for sliding glass door. Also known as 'Center Post Weather Strip', its purpose is to seal the gap created between stationary and sliding glass doors when a panel pet door is installed. Adhesive is 1/2" wide and begins inset 1/8"- Overall width is 1 7/ 8". Available colors are black and white.

This product is included in all Thermo Panel 3e™, Quick Panel 3™ and Thermo Panel 2e Microchip patio pet doors for sliding glass doors, but can be used with all panels for sliders.

  • Found what I needed! review by Josh
    5 5 Found what I needed!

I had just jammed a towel in the crack between the two sliding glass door panels for a couple of months in our new house after installing a doggie door panel. I was thinking some weatherstripping of some sort would work there, but could not find exactly what I wanted. After several attempts searching I found this product. It has been up for a couple of weeks and no issues with it coming off - I did follow the directions and cleaned the area with alcohol first. No draft or air coming through. I had to make a few cuts to fit at the top and I had to remove the security magnet and re-stick it on top of the draft stopper which worked without issue using some double-sided foam tape. I would buy this product again. Note that I live in central Florida, so I cannot speak to its ability to keep cold air out, but it at least keeps the bugs out and creates a good enough seal.

I find my door did not really need it. However, I've installed it as an extra measure of savings.

  • Works great, but need suggestion for wood review by Kitster
5 4 Works great, but need suggestion for wood

This product came worth or dog door and is been fabulous, on the dog door with the flap going towards where the sliding door meets it.
We need something for where the stationary door meets the sliding door, like this is shown to do. We got something from the hardware store, but our door is wood and it wouldn't stick to the wood. Any suggestions?

Editors note: We have had customers use the Draft Stopper on wood in the past, as the adhesive on this product is very strong and should stick to most surfaces.

It would be great except that if you install it you can't open and close the sliding door.

(Ed. Note: The customer was contacted to send out another draft stopper but no response was received)

I swear all of these reviews must be made by the company. This piece of plastic is a joke. I live in the NE and there is no way this piece of rubber plastic is going to stop the air from coming between the large gap the dog door makes. AND it peeled right off twice (got a 2nd one) because it was cold out and the glue doesn't stick. These 5 star reviews are company-generated.

I cleaned off the metal door with alcohol and followed all the directions. It's been on about 3 months now and works great. It really does what it claims to do and helps keep the house warmer. So glad I bought it!

My husband and I used this in conjunction with the small kitty door kit. it was the trick we needed to help seal out the incoming air from outside. However, we have two sliding glass doors that enter onto the lanai. one door we have set up permanently for the kitty. She loves her door and new found freedom to the screen room.

Weather stripping came with my pet door 25 years ago, but had torn in many places. This was exactly what I needed, and I'm very pleased. We thoroughly cleaned all the old sticky goo off before we put the new stripping on.

The adhesive is not good and it is not sticking to the door. For the cost, I would not recommend to any one.

ed. note - Our experience has been that if the user doesn't clean the surface well, the adhesion is poor. On a clean surface the adhesive is very strong.

What a difference the Draft Stopper makes. The old pet door we had did not have one of these. We tried to stop the cold from coming in with duct tape. Terrible idea. We ended up stuffing towels in the space to keep the wind out. That goodness we finally found this pet dorr and its Draft Stopper. Pays for itself in no time.

You can trim the draft stopper to the desired width as well.

Yes, you can apply it the same way to the back edge of the stationary window.
