The high quality Ideal VIP 150 Large sliding glass pet door insert is a made-to-order energy-efficient, vinyl pet door for sliding glass doors designed specifically for vinyl doors with larger door tracks. Pre-installed with a large, 7 ½" x 10 ½" flap, so even the biggest of kitties are able to easily fit through this sliding door insert cat flap. One of the most distinguishing features of the VIP sliding glass doggie door insert is the ability to lock with your existing doors. Unlike other sliding glass door panels, the VIP cat door insert comes with locking catches that match up with your existing lock, providing the security you need.

Please read instructions & notes thoroughly before installation.
Step 1 Remove Existing Lock Catch
- Remove the existing lock catch plate from your sliding door frame, as it will interfere with your new pet door.
Step 2 Remove Top Section
- Carefully remove the "H" Top Section from the top of the door.
- Place your pet door in position as shown.
Step 3 Attach the Hanger to the Frame
- With the pet door in place, mark a pencil line to correspond with the top of the door on the edge of the frame. Remove the pet door panel.
- Measure down 5 ¼” and make a new pencil line, transferring the line down to the inside of the frame. This new line indicates the bottom edge of the "Top" Hanger.
- Place the top Hanger in frame and line up the bottom edge with the pencil line. Using the screws provided in Poly Bag #1, attach the hanger to the frame, keeping it centered on the frame.
Step 4 Re-Hang the Pet Door
- Place the two track fillers underneath the door.
- Re-hang the IDeal VIP pet door. The fit should now be snug to keep the pet door from moving in the track.
Step 5 Attach the H Section
- Slide the "H" Section onto the top of the door over the springs.
- Height adjustments to the "H" section may be made by cutting along the desired groove with a utility knife.
Step 6 Secure the Panel
- After the "H" Top Section is in place, secure it in the door using two (3/16" x 5/8") screws provided in Poly Bag #2.
- Place the screws well away from the glass.

Cat door
Love it overall! Good quality and looks great. Just one gripe Our cat is getting elderly and he moves through the door slowly and his tail gets caught in the door. It slams shut on his tail. If he runs through it he able to get through fast enough before it smashes his tail buut it deters him from using the way we’d likewe still have to open n close the door for him often !
Locks with my existing door
The best thing I like about this panel is that it locks with my sliding glass door, so I didn't have to buy or install any additional locks. The installation was a bit advanced for me, but my contractor did it with no issues. Cat loves it, we love it - all good.
Great cat door, matched my patio door exactly
This is a great product. I've had it for a couple years and have had no major complaints. It is currently enduring two cats, twin 2-year olds, and a 2nd grader.
Great product. Best I've found
I have a 15 lbs dog and used to leave the back door cracked to allow her in/out access (which is not ideal for many reasons). I did a good amount of research on companies and options. I've had this door for 2 years and am very happy with the quality, reliability, security, and look. I couldn't live without it--very glad I found it!
Installation Difficult
OK, I consider myself about an 8/10 on home projects. The installation instructions would benefit from a link to an on-line video or a dvd shipped w/the door. There isn't enough detail. For instance, there is a mention of a critical 5/16 min. clearance during the installtion of the H channel. The close up doesn't show enough detail. I eventually figured it out, but the VIP door install took me about 3 hours, and I haven't installed the door seal extension yet, as the instructions aren't very clear on exaclty where it needs to be installed. I will try to call on that this week. Again, a video would really help. Finally, we're missing 3 of the self tapping 1 inch screws used for the installation of the door seal extension and door latch. BTW, the door latch install took about 45 minutes alone, it was very tricky to get it just right. Even so, it still isn't perfect -- really have to crank down on the door latch to get it in place. I think another latch spacer would help with this. Other than that, it appears to be a good product. I'm hoping the installation of the door seal assembly will seal it better as I can look through the cracks to the exterior of the house right now. Thanks for reading!
