  • Sturdy, weather-resistant, single-frame pet door for solid core doors and kennels (okay for wall mounts, but does not include tunnel)
  • Sideways swinging cast aluminum frame with polycarbonate center panel is chew resistant and comfortable for pets to use
  • Frame and polycarbonate center flap swings open when pets exit and only the polycarbonate flap swings when a pet enters
  • Frame comes in brushed aluminum color
  • Available in 6 models to accommodate dogs of all sizes

The Mason Company Pickwick Dog Doors are single flap frames made of durable, solid cast aluminum designed ideally as kennel dog doors. Since the Pickwick Dog Kennel Doors does not come with a locking cover, you can use it in conjunction with the Mason Guillotine Doors, which will slide a locking cover over the Pickwick flap when the pulley system is utilized. In this case, the Pickwick dog door (mounted on the exterior side of the kennel) provides the flap and frame, and the guillotine door (mounted on the interior side of the kennel) provides the locking mechanism. Built as a two-way pet door, the Pickwick maneuvers differently according to which direction your pet is coming from. When your pet leaves to go outside, the entire assembly (aluminum frame and polycarbonate flap) swings open. When your pet comes back inside, only the rigid panel swings inward while the frame remains still. The sturdiness and durability of this door is ideal for active dogs of all sizes.

  • Exterior frame is 5/16" thick cast aluminum for stability and weather resistance

  • The interior swinging door is 1/4" thick clear polycarbonate

  • The door is plated with spring hinges to resist corrosion; hinge strength varies among sizes and can be adjusted by switching out the heavy hinges for lighter ones

  • Six models available to accommodate dogs of varying sizes

  • Rigid polycarbonate flap swings open from the side when your pet enters (or moves with the frame when your pet exits the door)

  • Can be installed in doors and walls, but this requires framing out the interior of the wall or a hollow core door due to the single-frame design

  • Side opening is more comfortable for pets that don't like flaps that rub against their backs as they go through

  • Withstands severe, four-season climates

  • Heavy duty frame durability is great for active pets

  • Rigid, polycarbonate flap is very chew-resistant

  • Simple installation for kennels

Size Chart

The Min-Maxax Rough Cut Out Dimensions specify a minimum and maximum range for the width and height of the opening that the Pickwick door model will fit over. The entire assembly (flap and frame) swings open when the pet is going out. Only the inside polycarbonate panel swings inward when the pet comes back in. Measure the width and height of the opening you would like to fit the pet door over, and select the model with a min-max rough cut-out range that includes those dimensions.

If using the Pickwick Door with the Mason Guillotine Door, note that as long as the rough cut-out for the Pickwick door model is the same or smaller than the max flap dimensions for the Guillotine door, the Pickwick door will fit with the Guillotine door. The Guillotine door comes in Large (max flap size 17" x 29") and Extra Large (max flap size 17" x 34"), so all the Pickwick door models will fit.

Mason Company Pickwick Pet Door

Is this chew resistant?

The Pickwick doors are very chew resistant, so they are good for kennels and outdoor runs.

Can I install this on a door?

You can, however the door is one flap frame. There is no finishing frame. This means that you would have to DIY finish or frame out the interior of any hollow core doors.

Can I install this on a wall?

Yes, your contractor would have to build a tunnel to frame out the wall.

Is it good for larger and smaller pets sharing the same doggy door?

It can be a bit heavy and harder to push in the larger sizes, but you can adjust the strength of the hinges. They are offered in heavy and light, so you can switch out heavier ones for lighter Mason company pet door hinges.

What are the frame and flap made of?

The frame is a heavy aluminum and the inside panel is a clear rigid polycarbonate.

Can I use this in my house and not a kennel?

When the door opens and closes, it is aluminum and plastic banging together so it can be rather loud for residential installations.

Can I get a discount if I am buying multiple doors?

In most cases on the mason company pickwick dog door we can give you a price break depending on the quantity. Give us a call at (800) 826-2871 or email and we can see what we can work out for you.

What are the configurations of the mason hinges?

Each door will have a specific number of springs, and some will be heavier to push and some will be lighter and easier to push. We have all the confirmations on the Details tab on this page.

Does it come with a closing cover?

The door does not, but you can get a guillotine door and put that on the side opposite the pet door to act as a cover.

Are parts available?

You can get panels and Pickwick hinges from our Mason company kennel door accessories.
