Endura Flap vs. Hale Pet Doors

Considering Pet Size

Small Pets:

However, it’s important to note that because the Endura flap is made of highly weather-resistant material, it is heavier and may be harder for a particularly small or timid pet to push through.

Medium & Large pets:

For medium-sized pets, Endura and Hale both have great options such as the Endura Door Mount and Hale Door Mount. The same goes for large pets, so the choice would come down to your insulation needs.

For super large pets, however, Hale is the way to go. Hale has an extensive range of sizes to accommodate large pets. For instance, the Hale Wall Mount “Giant” flap size is 27-½” tall, making it the perfect choice for big breeds like Great Danes or Mastiffs.

Pets Sharing:

If you have pets of different sizes sharing the door (particularly in a dog and cat sharing), Hale is a great option. As mentioned above, they have super large flap sizes for big dogs, but the vinyl flap material is light enough for smaller dogs or cats to push through.

Insulation Value

Moderate Weather:

While the light vinyl flap on Hale pet doors makes it great for pets of varying sizes to share, it is not as weather-resistant as the Endura Flap. Most Hale doors have the option of a double flap for improved insulation, but they are still best for moderate climates because of the thinner, lighter flap material.

Harsh Weather:
